2026 Clue Scavenger Hunt
Active: January 1 - December 31, 2026
Welcome to the ITV Book Scavenger Hunt! This interactive event is designed to encourage engagement with your reads in a creative way, while having a chance to win book related prizes!
This year we are doing a scavenger hunt inspired by the murder mystery game Clue!
Find all 12 of these prompts in your yearly reads to enter the giveaway, then for an extra giveaway opportunity, wager your guess for WHO killed Sarah, in which PLACE, with what WEAPON.
Here’s how it works:
The List of Prompts:
ITV has curated a list of 12 prompts. Each prompt is designed to reflect a specific character type, location or weapon in books. Prompts are as follows:
Who?
Exorcist
Farmer
Pilot
Real Estate Agent
Where?
Attic
Casino
Cornfield
Motel
What?
Flail
Hammer
Poison
Rifle
Final Guess Submission:
Deduce the killer, weapon and what place Sarah was killed by finding all 12 prompts and gathering clues from social media during the year.
Know the Rules:
Find these character types, locations and weapons in the books you’re reading. DNFs do not count for the hunt!
Prompts must be found in the text, not on the cover.
For each completed and submitted prompt, you will earn one entry into the giveaway. You can only submit one entry per prompt.
You may use the same book for multiple prompts.
HOWEVER, if each prompt has a different book, you’ll get an extra entry!
Any book you’ve read in 2026 before the announcement will count if you have found an item.
If you have found all 12 prompts, you may submit a “final guess” for an entry into a second giveaway. If you have not submitted all 12 prompts by 1/2/2027, you will be disqualified from the second giveaway.
ITV Book Scavenger Hunt runs from 1/1/26 through 12/31/26. Entries will close on 1/2/2027. You will have two days to enter finds after the year ends. Winners will be chosen after the year ends and the giveaway is closed.
Final Tips:
To keep track of your finds, we recommend keeping a private list or a private storygraph challenge. Submit all 12 finds after you have completed the challenge!
Clues will be shared via social media throughout the year. I would recommend submitting a final guess toward the end of the calendar year.
If you need help, feel free to ask for suggestions, but remember, the fun is in the hunt!
